Asbury Mid-Autumn Festival
This Friday night from 8-10 p.m., the Office of Intercultural Affairs, Global Engagements Office and Confucius Classroom are teaming up to bring the Mid-Autumn Festival to campus. Also known as the “Moon Festival,” the Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese holiday that many Asian cultures celebrate. “In short, this is a celebration of the harvest season and a time to give thanks with family and friends – very similar to how we celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S.,” stated Director of the Global Engagement Office Tina Wei Smith. The event will host a variety of cultural foods, tea ceremony demonstrations, paper cutting and lantern making.
