Every February, Asbury University’s Black Student Alliance (BSA) hosts events to integrate black culture on campus. The events help facilitate discussion on race and the remembrance of important figures in history. “This year we decided to change it up a little bit,” stated Breanna Staten, president of BSA. Typically, the events are hosted every night for one week in February, but this year, the events will be held once a week all month.

Family Feud (Feb. 8) –  BSA’s Family Feud features questions based on black history and culture with professors/faculty and students competing against each other to win. The event will be in the Stuce at 7 p.m. with Demarion Johnson ‘21, who will act as the BSA’s very own Steve Harvey.

Artist Series: Whit Whitaker (Feb. 15) – BSA will collaborate with the music department’s Artist Series to host a concert with vocalist and actor Whit Whitaker at 7 p.m. in the Jameson Recital Hall.

Movie Night: “Lean on Me” (Feb. 22) – At 7 p.m. in the Stuce, BSA is showcasing the movie “Lean on Me” with free Cane’s for moviegoers.

Food Expo (Feb. 25) – Students will be able to walk around the Stuce and taste traditional homemade soul food while also learning about the origins of those foods. This event will be held at 7 p.m.
