Student body president-elect Maggie Richwine introduced the 2019-20 Executive Cabinet:
- Maggie Richwine: Student Body President
- Demarion Johnson: Vice President of Student Governance Association
- Hannah Becht: Vice President of Student Activities Board
- Olivia Loy: Vice President of Spiritual Life Board
- Seth Kinyua: Vice President of Student Intercultural Programs
- Hayley Sledge: Executive Secretary
- Tory McKinley: Executive Publicist
- Yun Li Tan: Executive Treasurer
Branch Reports:
Student Governance Association (SGA): Elijah Lutz was awarded the EMAFOSL award, which recognizes a senior who has put in three years of dedication and diligence to Asbury Student Congress.
Student Activities Board (SAB): An end of the year bash complete with music, intercultural food and activities takes place on May 3 at 6:30 p.m. on Reasoner Green. There will be gelato, the Louisville band Ocean City and blow-up obstacle courses.
Spiritual Life Board (SLB): The final WHAM for the semester is May 3 at 10:30 p.m. in the Stuce, and the first 100 inside will receive a free copy of the Asbury Worship Collective’s new EP.
Student Intercultural Programs (SIP): The Advocacy & Comprehension Committee presented a proposal to add a fifth dance to our campus total strictly for intercultural styles of
dance with hopes to encourage, educate and inform students on the many cultures our student body.
New business:
Two charters were passed: one for the Asbury Chess Club Society and one for the Social Work Club. The Social Work Club charter will work in accordance with the Phi Alpha Society.
The Merciful Class presented a proposal as a recommendation for next year’s EC to
consider purchasing two massage chairs for an open-roof library study room as part of a
new “Relaxation Room,” which passed through ASC for next year’s EC to consider.
Next year, ASC will be discussing and commenting on a proposal to restructure Class Cabinet and its roles; stay tuned for more information on this.
