Asbury’s Student Activities Cabinet encourages students to attend the Spooky Stuce tomorrow night in the Student Center.
From 8-10 p.m. on Halloween, students are welcome to participate in a costume party in order to kick-off Halloween weekend.
“There will be packaged candy that we are passing out, as well as a costume competition,” junior SAC cabinet member Joy Pidgoradetska said.
The competition will be judged by members of the Asbury community of all ages, and fun prizes will be awarded to the winners.
“We are recruiting different faculty, staff, professors and their kids, so we’re hoping that the kids will help judge the costumes,” Pidgoradetska said. “There will be a kid’s favorite and a professor’s favorite, and it’s a good time to come, hang out and socialize.”
Students are encouraged to be unique with their costume choices. The event will feel very fall-like in order to get students into the spirit of Halloween with fall decorations, fall candy, music and more.
“It’ll be really fun, there will be candy which is great, and it will be a great way to get creative if you are into dressing up for Halloween. People get really creative with their costumes,” Pidgoradetska said.
The SAC tries to make sure that students are able to have fun experiences on campus due to the many things students have not been able to participate in like normal. The Spooky Stuce event tomorrow night is one of their ways of making it happen.
“It’s a great way to spend a Saturday night, to get out of your room and have fun on campus, and you get to see a lot more people,” Pidgoradetska said. “With COVID, we haven’t been allowed to experience campus in its fullness, so this is one of the events that will kind of make it feel more normal in that way.”
