The NBA just finished one of its seasonal holidays: the trade deadline. On March 25, multiple teams participated in changing their rosters as they prepare for the rest of the season. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets and others played a part in the deadline.
Some of the trades came as a surprise across the league. Big names like Andre Drummond signed with the Lakers, LaMarcus Aldridge with the Nets and Aaron Gordon with the Nuggets. The Atlanta Hawks trade of Rajon Rondo for Lou Williams from the LA Clippers raised many eyebrows. Also, the Orlando Magic traded all-star Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls for a handful of players.
Teams that are struggling tend to look at the deadline to give them a boost.
For the struggling Boston Celtics, the deadline triggered a grim assessment from their general manager.
“It just seems like we don’t have a lot of characteristics of a really good team, for sure,” said Ainge.
