With the air getting cooler by the days, and the leaves slowly falling to the ground we find ourselves back in the arms of the fall season. For us students it’s more than just an environment change, it’s also a time to work hard and get our “school on” so to speak. It’s a time to build on ourselves en route to a brighter future, but it doesn’t have to be dry. In fact, this formative stage coupled with this season’s magic can equal to moments we can all look back and cherish down the road.
Here are some tips to make your spring memorable:
1. Start A Hobby
We know there’s a lot to do already. But starting a new hobby or even restarting one is a way to keep your mind fresh. It’s also a venue to get to know yourself better and others who might share the same passion. Whatever that may be, go on and pursue it! This might be your sign to do so.
2. Make A New Friend
This could be as easy as talking to a new face in class or a staff member. It doesn’t take much of your time, but the rewards are priceless! You might even find a friend for life and or a mentor to guide you through your journey. Just like how Forrest Gump would say, “Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”.
3. Reward Yourself
Celebrate the small victories that you encounter in our college journey. It doesn’t have to be extravagant at all! The main idea here is to spotlight the amazing things you’ve done. This will serve as reserve fuel when you’re feeling down in the dumps. Not only that, but it will also be a source of inspiration for you to do better.
4. Keep Your Faith Burning
This can be accomplished in a multitude of ways such as being a part of a bible study group or integrating prayer in your day-to-day activities. If you’re looking for more, our chapel might be your best bet. These are perfect moments to hear God’s voice more distinctly and as a result learn more about what He has in store for you.
5. Pay It Forward
Did you experience an act of kindness today? What about blessings? If you’ve answered yes to one or both, then you might want to consider paying it forward. Again, it doesn’t have to in a big way, what matters is you extend your gratitude. Think of this as saying thank you, this time using actions.
Hopefully these tips sparked something in you to spice things up.
Have an awesome spring season everyone!
