This weekend is encouraging current and former Kentucky students to connect, celebrating the heritage of the university and cheering on the Wildcat football team taking on Mississippi State. Last season, the Bulldogs finished 7-6 overall (4-4 in conference play) and got trampled 34-7 by Texas Tech in the Liberty Bowl.
The Lexington Visitors also put together a list of hotels near the campus of Kentucky. All visitors and alumni coming into town can find a hotel within a 10-minute drive to the campus of UK.
Oct. 13-16 is homecoming weekend at the University of Kentucky. Tickets for the Homecoming game can be purchased through the UK Athletics website. During Homecoming weekend, it’s easy to find plenty of options to eat around town and campus. Popular spots include Stella’s Kentucky Deli, Columbia Steak House, Charlie’s Seafood Restaurant, Nic and Norman’s, and South of Wrigley.
On Thursday, Oct. 13, there will be a homecoming bowman photo open to all alumni at Wildcat Alumni Plaza from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
On Friday, Oct. 14, there will be a DanceBlue Silent Auction at 5:30 p.m. located at The Cornerstone. The men’s and women’s basketball teams will also be hosting Big Blue Madness in Rupp Arena at 7 p.m. Both squads will be participating in an intersquad scrimmage.
Finally on Sunday, Oct 16, there will be a Golden Wildcat Farewell Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Campbell House.
