Tale of Tonight was not long ago, but a time to remember. About 500 Asbury students gathered together for a night of fun and fellowship while dancing together in the CLC Luce Auditorium put on by the Student Activities Cabinet.
“The inspiration of the theme came from the Margaret Atwood quote, ‘In the end, we’ll all become stories,” Senior SAC Member Taylor Enlow said.
Students were packed together making the night one to remember. The middle of the dance floor quickly became a mosh pit of students jumping up and down, making the most of their time together.
“My favorite part about the dance was dancing with my friends and screaming music lyrics,” sophomore Kennedy Roberge said.
The dancing space included a border surrounded by tables to create a fun and elegant look. This was reserved for students to take a step back to munch on their refreshments, and just watch the dancers from the sides.
The theme included old books, taper candles, doilies, torn book pages, tea cups, brass, and fresh floral arrangements. “Think of a vintage magical library,” Enlow said.
Students danced the night away, and a few had some outlasting favorites. “Low” by T-Pain was a fan favorite, everyone began going crazy when it started.
“Me and my friends have never screamed and danced so hard to a song before. It was so much fun!” Roberge said.
Students also got to have some refreshments when they needed a break from dancing, along with some refreshing mocktails.
“Tale of Tonight” will definitely be a night to remember.
SAC will soon be hosting “Twas the Night Before December” on November 30th from 8-10 pm.
