Police investigate skeletal remains found in northern Kentucky

The Fort Wright police were called on Feb. 24 to the area of Howard Litzler Drive near Madison Pike in Kenton County to investigate a report of skeletal remains found in the woods. The call was made by a local resident who was walking through the area.

Erlanger police and Kenton County Evidence Collection Unit performed a thorough search of the area, and the remains are believed to be human. All remains found were turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office, where they will be further identified. This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time, police do not suspect foul play. The officer in charge of the case is Chief Edward Butler of the Fort Wright Police. Anyone with information relating to the case has been asked to contact Kenton County Emergency Communications.
