The Latino Festival is returning to downtown Lexington

The annual Festival Latino de Lexington is taking place in downtown Lexington this weekend.

The festival is presented by Lexington Parks & Recreation and the Foundation for Latin American and Latino Culture and Arts (FLACA). It is the largest Latino Heritage event in Kentucky. Over the past 20-plus years, this event has grown into an anticipated experience for all different communities living within the Bluegrass region.

The festival proudly showcases Latin American art and culture. Participants are able to experience upbeat Latin dances, live music, visual arts and authentic cuisine.

In reference to the festival’s events, the FLACA website states, “Traditionally we featured many regional vendors offering Latino food, crafts and on many occasions we have live performances by sculptors, painters and other plastic arts artists.”

This year’s festival takes place over a two-day weekend. Friday night is a “tropical night” and will include authentic Latino food paired with live music and dance.

This event is a great opportunity for all to experience a culture outside of their own. It is also a great way to connect with the community of Lexington and all the events it has to offer.
The Latino Festival is this weekend from Sept. 27-28 and will take place at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Friday’s events are from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday’s are from 3-10 p.m. For more information on this event contact: (info@flacaky.org).
