“Worship Him At Midnight,” more commonly known as WHAM, will return to Hughes Auditorium tonight. Held three to four times a semester, WHAM is a beloved event of Asbury’s student body.
Starting at 10 p.m. and ending at 11:30 p.m., the event is a late-night service with worship and prayer. There is also always a message given by a guest speaker or student. The heart of the event is how the Lord moves in the lives of all who attend.
Many students have their own personal memories of how the event has been a central part of their college experience. Sophomore Bailey Soard says, “I love how community oriented it is. It feels like all of Asbury is coming together.” WHAM is a place for connections and continuing in a relationship with the Lord.
WHAM’s ultimate purpose is to act as a place to host and give people the opportunity to encounter the presence of God. It is a time to worship outside of the regularly scheduled services and serves as a sacred space available to all of the Asbury community.
