The leaves continue to brighten and the temperature continues to drop as Autumn flies into full swing. Pumpkin patches are open, everyone is wearing sweaters and the Apple Cider Chai is once again the most popular drink at the Hiccup.
If you are looking for another fun fall activity, the Asbury Student Activities Cabinet (SAC) and the Aldersgate apartments are preparing the perfect event for your family and friends. The annual Harvest Festival kicks off on Saturday, Oct 26th at 6:00 PM.
The festival will include activities such as bobbing for apples, sack races, plentiful vendors to shop from and photo opportunities.
“There will be a variety of vendors,” said SAC member Dalton Fleshood, “ vendors will be selling baked goods, sublimation cups, crochet animals, jewelry, art, woodwork, clothing, and many more goods.”
Additionally, the event will include live music throughout the evening provided by Asbury’s very own Jude Lins.
The annual Aldersgate Chili Cookoff will also be taking place during the festival, giving everyone a chance to taste the contestants’ chili and decide which one is the best. A panel of four judges will be judging the Chili Cookoff and voting and handing out awards to the cooks.
Harvest FestivalYou can contribute to the Chili Cookoff by tasting each one and voting for your favorite, “Come and let us know which Chili is the best!” Fleshood encouraged. The judges will then announce which chili will win the People’s Choice Award.
