As October comes to a close and November begins, the Asbury Student Activities Cabinet (SAC) is preparing for the annual Fall Formal. The dance will be held in the Walt and Rowena Shaw Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) on Nov. 9 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The theme of this year’s Fall Formal is “A Lovely Night” and is based on the hit movie La La Land. “The vibe is classic Hollywood and Red Carpet,” point organizer Marlee Pettit said, “Students are welcome to dress up in more formal wear to go along with the theme!”
The Fall Formal is open to all students and everyone is encouraged to get dressed up and bring their friends. “My favorite part about fall formal is the joy that it brings and dancing all night with your friends,” senior Emma Hearn stated.
Fresh Ideas will be catering desserts and there will be assorted beverages available throughout the evening.
The Fall Formal is one of the biggest events that SAC puts on every year. “I like seeing everyone dressed up for the event and enjoying themselves outside of school,” SAC member Karly Fetter said, “It’s also a fun way to connect with those you go to school with that you don’t normally get to.”
The SAC team has been working hard to prepare for the event with food, decorations, tickets, posters and more. “My favorite part about the event is the planning process,” Pettit said, “ and seeing all the hard work pay off as people enjoy their night with one another.”
The event tickets are $5 each and can be bought at the door the night of the dance.
