KCAL Gospel Showcase

The KCAL Gospel Showcase will be held on Friday, Dec. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. It will be hosted by Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Admission is free. Sponsored by KCAL Old Time Radio and Warner’s Printing Service, the show will accept donations to benefit the Jessamine County Schools Homeless Education Program.

Produced every year, the showcase features 13 different acts from the area. There will be a variety of musical groups performing everything from solo acts to duos or trios.

The KCAL Old Time Radio is made up of a troupe that recreates old time radio shows the way they were originally performed back in the 1940s and 50s. Performing since December of 2014, the group has created mysteries, comedies, dramas and commercials. There are 20 cast members that are a part of the magic created at the downtown Nicholasville Theater.

The ensemble gives four shows a year, one per season, to benefit the community. The other events held yearly include performing live at the First Vineyard Winery and this Gospel Showcase. Under the direction of Doug Fain, Norman and Denise Cline, the event seeks to spread joy and peace through their productions.

The KCAL Old Time Radio Shows’ Facebook page states, “None of the performers, directors or producers receive any compensation as they give their time and talents for the advancement of arts in Jessamine County.” The performers come to create out of a love for the arts and passion to share it with the surrounding area.
