“Worship Him At Midnight,” more commonly known as WHAM, will return to Hughes Auditorium tonight. Held three to four times a semester, WHAM is a beloved event of Asbury’s student body.
Starting at 10 p.m. and ending at 11:30 p.m., the event is a late-night service with worship and prayer. There is also always a message given by a guest speaker or student. The heart of the event is how the Lord moves in the lives of all who attend.
It is a sacred space, one that not only acts as a worship gathering to praise Jesus and feed our souls, but also as an area to surrender and lay down the hardships of going through life. WHAM is a place for connections and continuing in a relationship with the Lord.
WHAM’s ultimate purpose is to host and give people the opportunity to encounter the presence of God. It is a time to worship outside of the regularly scheduled chapel and church services and serves as a sacred space available to all of the Asbury community.
