Woodford Theatre’s “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” comes just in time for the holiday season

With finals coming up and the holidays just around the corner, there’s no better way to take a break and get into the festive spirit than by seeing the Woodford Theatre’s production of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” This timeless story, based on the beloved novel by C.S. Lewis, promises to captivate audiences of all ages.

“This dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia,” states the Woodford Theatre website.

Silas Nickell, who plays Peter Pevensie in the production, stated that “This story’s themes are deeply relevant to all people. This show is a beautiful reflection of the Biblical Gospels. It is a story about love, faith, family, forgiveness and courage.”

The Woodford Theatre is located at 275 Beasley Rd. in Versailles, Ky., and has long been a cherished gem of the central Kentucky arts scene. Known for its high-quality productions, the theatre has drawn comparisons to larger venues like the Lexington Opera House. As Nickell stated, “The staff of Woodford are some of the kindest, most supportive people you could ever meet.” One reviewer praised it as “a fantastic community resource,” adding, “We were thoroughly impressed with the production and acting. I highly recommend you catch a show here. We will be back when we visit the area again.”

Performances will be Dec. 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22. Friday and Saturday performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee will take place at 2 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $18 to $26. Tickets are nonrefundable and can be purchased online until two hours before the show. You can also visit the box office one hour before showtime to purchase tickets. Tickets may be purchased online at https://ci.ovationtix.com/34344
