On Saturday, Feb. 22, Asbury University students will have the opportunity to take part in a day trip to the National Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. This trip is being led and coordinated by Coordinator of Intercultural Life Rev. Juan Gonzalez, Rev. Dr. Sarah Baldwin, Rev. Esther Jadhav, Dr. Henry Zonio and Eswin Monroy.
Students should have received an email with the information and QR code necessary to sign up for the trip. This trip is free for students to attend and provides an opportunity to learn in an off-campus setting.
“I would say that attending this trip is a great opportunity,” said Gonzalez. “We are providing transportation, the cost of the entrance, lunch at a restaurant in Downtown Cincinnati and the opportunity of having a meaningful experience and a conversation about life, freedom and human rights.”
There is only room for around thirty students on this trip, so if you are interested in attending be sure to sign up as soon as possible and invite your friends.
Exploring the National Railroad Freedom Center gives students a chance to “learn about the history and challenges suffered by previous generations in their fight to obtain freedom from slavery and the pursuit of respect of life and benefits of human rights derived from it,” said Gonzalez.
The group will be leaving at 9 a.m. from the parking lot outside of the Kinlaw Library and will return to campus around 4:30 p.m.
