Upcoming Women’s Clothing Swap

Asbury’s first-ever large-scale women’s clothing swap is taking place on Saturday, Feb.15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Luce Auditorium.

This event is a great opportunity for Asbury women to exchange clothing they have gotten tired of for something new.

All women are welcome to donate clothes. The only requirement for donation is giving items that are gently used. Items that have noticeable holes, stains and tears will not be accepted. Items that cannot be donated include swim-wear, bras/undergarments, hats, jewelry, generic Asbury t-shirts and accessories. Gently used sweaters/sweatshirts, tops, non-Asbury t-shirts, pants/jeans, skirts, dresses, bags and shoes are allowed.

Emily Leininger, the Resident Director of the Aldersgate Apartments, said, “In order to participate and find new clothes, you can give your old, gently used clothes to your RA. Your RA will then give you a ticket for the clothing swap on Feb. 15. The amount of new-to-you clothes you can take depends on how many clothing items you donate. For example, if you give 10 items, you can take a maximum of 10 items.”

It is important that all who donate keep their tickets after donation in order to exchange them for new clothing.

All unclaimed clothing after the event will be donated to the Wilmore Community Service Center thrift shop on Main Street in downtown Wilmore.

All clothing must be given to RAs by Thursday, Feb. 13. Students are required to arrange times to meet up with their RAs to donate clothing.

For more information about the event, email Emily Leiniger (emily.leininger@asbury.edu) or reach out to your RA.
