Homeschool Visit Day

On Monday, March 3, Asbury University’s campus will welcome high school-aged students and their families who are part of a homeschool curriculum or co-op for Homeschool Visit Day. This event allows homeschooled students and their families to take part in activities such as attending chapel, sitting in on classes in fields that spark their interest and taking tours of campus.

In addition to the regular visit day sessions that are offered, there will be “unique sessions offered only at this event,” said Camille Sigrist, Coordinator for Campus Visits and Events, “such as the Panel of Asbury Homeschool Students and the Transcript Evaluation Seminar.”

This visit day helps homeschool students see what a day in the life of an Asbury student is like and how the Admissions department will help them through the process of searching for a college and applying.

“We want these homeschool students to feel welcome on our campus,” said Sigrist, “and this event is a catalyst for productive conversations about how Asbury supports homeschool students through the application process, as well as how we continue to support them as enrolled students.”

With Asbury being considered one of the most “homeschool friendly” universities in Kentucky, Sigrist and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions seek to continue building meaningful connections with homeschoolers and their families from many different places and backgrounds.

“Asbury thrives in diversity and benefits from having students from all sorts of educational backgrounds,” said Sigrist, “and it is the job of the Admissions Office to attract those students.”
