Baseball
Eagles’ Baseball, currently sitting at a 5-15 (1-8) record, will look to string together some positive momentum this weekend with a home series against the Scots of Maryville College. The first of three games takes place on Friday, April 4, with the latter two following on Saturday. While the season hasn’t gone the purple and white’s way thus far, a home-field advantage this weekend could be exactly what they need to turn things around. It’s a long season, and it’s far from over.
Softball
The softball squad will celebrate their senior day on Saturday, April 5, at home in a two-game series against LaGrange College. The Eagles hold a solid 14-8 record on the season so far, though they’ll look to improve on their even-keeled 5-5 tally in conference play. Come out and support the seniors, if you can, and cheer on the softball team as they work to mount wins and improve on an already respectable win/loss split.
Tennis
Both men’s (7-2) and women’s (9-3) tennis will look to build on their already scorching hot resumes this Saturday in a match on the road against Piedmont University in Demorest, Ga. As the season rounds into the final stretch and the NCAA Tournament looms for both teams, adding another win into an already bloated column on either side would bode well for their momentum going forward.
Track and Field
The track and field teams will meet and compete on Friday and Saturday just next door at the Centre Outdoor Invitational, at Centre College in Danville. This will mark their first of two trips to Centre in April, with the meets only split by a home invitational the following weekend. Both units will have the opportunity to take advantage of the close proximity to home and put together a bevy of solid finishes on the road.
