Wilmore’s 9th annual Wesley Waddle will take place April 5 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. The Waddle is a marathon offering both a 5k and 10k through the city of Wilmore.
All participants will receive a performance shirt, finisher’s medal and a post-race coffee and breakfast.
A $100 cash prize will be presented to 1st place overall male and female runners. Furthermore, awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female runners per age group.
Age groups are divided into groups. The age group divisions are 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older.
The registration fee for the Waddle is $25 for the 5k and $30 for the 10k. Discounts will be given to Asbury Seminary and Asbury University students. The discounted fee for students is $20 for the 5k and $25 for the 10k.
100% of the proceeds will be given to Refuge for Women, a nationally recognized organization that provides long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking. The organization offers safe houses throughout central Kentucky and across the nation. The goal of Refuge for Women is to equip women to complete their program with a vision for their future and a life marked with dignity and hope.
Strollers are permitted during the race. Pets are not permitted, but ADA service animals are welcome.
The event will begin on Asbury Seminary’s campus in front of the Morrison Administration building.
