As a way to give back to those in need the Fayette Heating & Air will be gifting free HVAC systems to local families as a part of their annual “Gift of Heat” campaign.
Since 2006, Fayette Heating & Air has been asking people to submit nominations for people in need of heat in the winter. Fayette Heating & Air has given out more than $500,000 worth of HVAC systems since the beginning of the campaign.
“As a local company, we have a deep connection to our community and its people” the Fayette Heating & Air website states. “Having received years of support and encouragement from our community, we feel strongly about giving back to those who have given us so much.” In addition to their “Gift of Heat” campaign, Fayette Heating & Air has helped support charities such as The Lexington Humane Society, The Lexington Salvation Army and The YMCA of Central Kentucky.
The previous year’s “Gift of Heat” campaign received more than 150 nominations, a record number for their campaign. All four recipients of the free HVAC systems stated that their new system came to them as a blessing. Teresa Miller, one of last year’s recipients, had been going through a tough couple of years after the loss of her husband. Miller hadn’t had heat in her home for quite some time and stated “It makes up for the past two years of all the bad that’s been going on.”
General Manager Tim Bauman commented that he wishes they could give HVAC systems to every family in need. Bauman stated “It’s just such a blessing. Every time they open that card up and those emotions go through, you see the tears, and you start tearing up as well.” He continued, saying, “It shows you how important ‘Gift of Heat’ is to the community and to us because though we might be only helping four people out, we’re helping someone out. That’s very important to us.”
Fayette Heating & Air cannot provide free HVAC systems without the help of your nominations. If you know of someone who is in need of a new HVAC system, you can nominate them through Nov. 30, 2024. According to LEX 18 in order to qualify “the person must own the home, have pre-existing ductwork and live within the business’ services areas.”
You can nominate someone through their website or through the mail. For website nominations visit: https://fayetteheating.com/gift-of-heat/
