As the end of the semester rapidly approaches, everyone is gearing up for final projects, papers and exams. Students in the Stage Managing and the Directing classes are also preparing for their final project, which looks a little different than any other final exam.
On Dec. 5 and 6 at 9:30 p.m. in the Greathouse Theatre, students from both Stage Managing and Directing classes will present their final showcases to their peers and professors.
“Each director picked a 10-minute scene from a different play and has been working to bring the scene to life just like one would in a full show, working with actors, props and costumes,” Student Director Ella Anderson said. “The stage managers will each be stage managing one of these shows, making sure the lights and sound effects all run smoothly.”
This event provides students with the opportunity to showcase their growth, talent and professionalism in either stage managing or directing. Anderson explained that the scenes being presented this year will range from comedic satires to dramas to suspense thrillers.
Both current students and alumni make up the acting troupes involved in the showcase.
