Tonight is the last opportunity to see the Directing and Stage Management Showcase. On Dec. 6 at 9:30 p.m. in the Greathouse Theatre, students from both the Stage Management and the Fundamentals of Directing classes will present their final showcases to their peers and professors. The showcase will feature scenes with both student and Asbury alumni actors.
According to Ella Anderson, a student in the Fundamentals of Directing class, the Directing and Stage Management Showcase “is a showcase of seven excerpts from various plays in all genres. Each director is directing a scene to showcase what we have been learning, and we have each been paired up with a stage manager, who is in charge of the set changes, as well as light and sound cues.”
This year’s showcase will feature a range of genres, including comedic satires, dramas and suspense thrillers. The showcase not only provides students from the two classes with the opportunity to showcase their work and growth from the semester, but it also gives the Asbury community a chance to take a break from studying for finals.
“Students should come see it because it is a really fun event with a wide variety of shows, from comedy to mystery to drama. It is a fast-paced, entertaining, study break and a wonderful way to support students in the classes,” said Anderson.
