ASC Member of the Week: Elijah Lutz

Class – Merciful

Major – Political Science & History

Branch – Student Governance

Position – Merciful Class President

What’s the importance of your committee/branch?

While many think that the class president is the leader of the class, I would be nothing without the members of my cabinet. The most important role is being the supporter of my cabinet. They are the ones who get down to brass tacks and work hard to do their job well. As president, being a facilitator of action and helping work with all the other members is paramount to everything else. It is also important to be a listener and to listen to the needs, concerns and ideas of the class.

What has been the best moment you’ve experienced while involved with them?

While not trying to be cliche, the best moments I have experienced have been when I have been able to successfully help a fellow student get something done with student government. There is nothing I love more than being able to help somebody with something and seeing their gratitude for it.

What do you want other students on campus to know about your ministries?

Though we may just be student government, we are still public servants in a way. All of us on Asbury Student Congress are here because we want to serve our friends. Nothing makes us happier than being able to do our jobs and help serve you as best as we possibly can. We are here for you for anything, so please come talk to us and share your ideas. Don’t hold back.
