Kinlaw air conditioning fails amid soaring temperatures

Starting early September, Kinlaw Library had problems with the two air conditioning
units. With the temperatures outside rising well above 80 degrees and into the 90s, the library
units could only function at 25% of their usual capacity.
The first new air conditioning unit was installed on Sept. 5. Kinlaw was closed until 5
p.m. As students use Kinlaw as a quiet area to study, the building being closed disappointed
many.
“It was very inconvenient and at times annoying, especially when we’re hitting the first
week of exams,” sophomore McKenzie Meyer said.
After some setbacks, Kinlaw Library got the second air conditioning unit installed on
Sept. 17. Kinlaw is expected to remain open as normal going forward.
