President Brown delivers weekly coronavirus updates

Asbury University President Kevin J. Brown will be releasing updated coronavirus statistics via email each week. The weekly statistics will be focused on students studying on campus to offer transparency on the status of university health.

After the second week of classes, there are two positive tests, no students in isolation and thirteen students in quarantine.

The first statement was delivered to students through an email on Aug. 21, the first Friday of the semester.

“In an effort to keep our community informed of any COVID-19 developments in our student population on campus, I will email an update at the end of each week with current numbers of on-campus student COVID-19 cases,” said Brown via email. “Additionally, there is a new dashboard on our website that you can reference.”

In the email, Brown stated that students would receive a similar email each Friday to keep them aware of the situation.

Brown’s release also serves as a reminder to abide by coronavirus protocol, which will reduce the spread of coronavirus, therefore allowing students to stay on campus for the remainder of the semester.
